About Us
At this moment, the must-read stories in personal finance are scattered across hundreds of news sites and blogs. That’s far too much for any reader to follow.
Fortunately, CashBlogged arranges all of these sites and blogs into single, easy-to-scan pages, separated by category.
We do this by collecting the headlines of the latest stories from the best personal finance sites and blogs. We then group these stories and sites into categories, so you can be sure you have the most up to date information. Then we display the headlines of the information sources as well as their first paragraph. Our topics run from investing, frugal living, entrepreneurship, banking, venture capital etc.
The CashBlogged Community
You can think of CashBlogged as the “personal finance book section” of the web. CashBlogged is a starting point – not the ultimate destination. Ultimately, our goal is to enhance your online reading by displaying stories from sites that you’re already visiting plus helping you discover new sites that you didn’t know existed. For personal finance bloggers we provide a growing community of like minded site owners.
These are a few ways you can either enhance your use of CashBlogged or increase our traffic—ideally both.
Follow us on twitter @CashBlogged and receive hourly ‘tweets’ of the top news in finance. Retweet your favorite articles and stories, this is the best way you can help us out.
Of course we got a facebook page. Like us and like our content, we got a few of those handy facebook ‘like’ buttons around.
Community Blog
On our community blog we post a collection of our featured, most-read and favorite articles from around the finance world. We also post any company announcements or developments.
FAQ for Users and Site Owners
1. How do the CashBlogged categories work?
We import the stories of the top personal finance websites and blogs and display the headlines of the five to ten most recent stories. When you place your cursor over a headline, we display part of the story so that you can decide if you’d like to read it. To read the story, click on its title. To go to the home page of the site, click on the header titles.
2. How often do you update the feeds?
Approximately once an hour.
3. How do you decide which sites and blogs are in a category?
We rely on several sources: results of Google searches, review of the sites’ and blogs’ content, researchers, and our “gut” plus the recommendations of the Twitter community, owners of the sites and blogs, and people who care enough to write to us.
4. How do you decide on the order?
We don’t have a specific order for the feeds, but we do put what we feel are sites and blogs with the most credibility near the top. On our featured page we take care of our friends, if you help us we will help you. Want to be featured on our home page? Write up a quick article on us and then let us know.
Note: CashBlogged is not based on computer algorithms or popular voting.
5. Couldn’t I build my own custom aggregation using a feed reader, customizable home pages, etc.
